During the 2013-2014 school year, the Board of Trustees undertook a review and validation of our Mission, Vision, and Values.
The Mission, Vision, and Values, are defined by the Ontario Ministry of Education as follows:
- Mission Statement – a concise statement of the organization’s purpose (what we do, who we serve, what makes us distinctive, etc.)
- Vision – a statement of the ideal future state (where do we want to be, and what will be achieve by fulfilling our Mission)
- Values – the fundamental beliefs and principles that frame how the organization operates and how decisions are made
Trustees determined that both the Board’s Mission, and Vision statements are still reflective of our distinct purpose as a Catholic school district, but that the Values should be revisited and refreshed to reflect our legislated purpose and current goals of Ontario’s education system, specifically: 21st Century Teaching and Learning, Safe and Healthy Schools, Equity and Inclusive Education.
